The distressed leather looks great and the color goes with anything. I did purchase these one half size larger due to other reviews on this site and I am glad I did. I like to wear thin socks, but if someone wanted to wear thick socks they might require an entire size larger. The only complaint I have is the upper part of the boot is not finished smoothly on the inside and rubs my calves. I will have to wear socks high enough to prevent chafing or line the boot with moleskin.
