| 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful  Finally, a nice tall boot from Frye for thinner calves!, By This review is from: FRYE Women's Taylor Ring Boot (Apparel) I am so happy!After trying boot after boot, even those labeled for under 15" calves & finding them all 16+ inches & WAY too big in the shaft in a size 9 or 9.5 BTW, It would help TREMENDOUSLY if when they give the measurements for the opening (top circumference) that they should give the size of the boot that they took that measurement from! It would save so much in time & shipping costs for the seller & buyers who would NOT buy a boot that was too small or big in the shaft for them!! But I digress, The boot is a nice brown, it had a strange grayish cast to it but I took a soft cloth & it buffed off, it must have been a polish or waxy coating, it was very cold out today so maybe that caused the gray cast to the polish?? I am a 9 1/2 in most high heels & in most boots like Nine West & can wear a 9 in Frye with stockings or a 9 1/2 with thick socks. They are spectacular to look at with a rich, dark brown color and detail that is eye catching and unique. They are comfortable and the heel isn't too high, which I like. I found them to be true to size and width. I bought them to wear with jeans or skirts but this is almost like a cowboy boot as far as how sturdy it is. The boots are perfect looking with a flawless color throughout. If I had it my way, I think I'd like to see the leather a little bit distressed instead. That said, they are lovely. |
