You can wear them cuffed, or not cuffed. Since I'm rather tall, I prefer to wear them un-cuffed so they come all the way to my knee. I have the "fawn" color which goes with black as well as brown and pretty much every color in between. I am dissapointed that Frye is no longer made in the USA (Mexico now), but the boots are still the high quality that I have come to expect from Frye. They seem to run a little large, but there's no way I'm returning them. In person, it is a medium cool brown color. I wouldn't describe the leather as supple because it's stiffer than the other pair of Frye boots I have (which are also new). But it is the perfect pair of boots! I am 5'7", and uncuffed, the boot reaches to just under my knee. This is what I was looking for in a boot--to come up just below my knee. Most boots have shorter shafts, but the longer shaft of these is great. You can also cuff it over all the way, or just an inch or so to give some variety. This boot is perfect. I agree that this color will go with so much since it is a great neutral. The leather is slightly distressed-looking (slight variations in color througout the boot). It is comfortable right out of the box and true to size. I recommend these boots highly (especially at this price)!
