The finish is great, love the distressed look, the drawback is that they have a brittle feel to them in the cold (they seem to chip in spots), very waxy in a warm room, I'm uncertain of how they'll age (hopefully beautifully) and definitely feel the need to handle them with great care.My other qualm is that they're a bit tight in the calves, a common occurrence for me as I have athletic calves and work hard to keep them looking that way. They're breaking in nicely and loosening in the leg with time and wear. These aren't ***kickers like some other Frye boots I have (such as the engineer boots or motorcycle) - not the everyday wear boots I had hoped for because of the delicacy of the finish, but gorgeous enough to keep, justify the price (got on sale) and save for special occasions.
