They are well-made and true to fit, however they are made to last a lifetime and as a result will take time to 'break in'. If you're planning to buy then wear them out for a night of dancing or walking, I'd advise you to wear them around the house for a while. The leather around the calf can chafe and the instep is so stiff that you'll have a hard time walking. I've also taken my boots to a good shoe repair shop and had him put rubber half soles on the bottom; the soles are leather and I've learned from my other 2 pairs that leather soles and snow do not work - I've had a few slips. The color is a rich medium brown very similar to the shown photo and has very soft leather on the interior of the boot. However, these boots are a bit snug around the calf. I am a soccer player so my calves may be a bit muscular but if there was anything about these boots I would change it would be to make the width of the shaft a little bit larger for those of us with a little bit more calf than others. |
