I ordered 8.5 and the foot bed fits perfectly. Its even comfortable which is surprising for the height of the heel. Its Frye, so the quality of leather craftsmanship is very nice. However, the only complaint I have is that it takes about 5 minutes to get these bugger on. Since there is no zipper you have to use the pull tabs to get them on. That in itself is no big deal, but the pull tabs are made of ribbon which makes it a little stressful on the hands while tugging and after 4-5 wears the tab on the left boot broke. This is a big deal since I can't get them on without the tab. At first Frye suggested I have the shaft stretched or get a bigger size. If I did that they'd be too loose in the shaft once on and if I ordered a larger size the foot bed would be way too big. Now Frye has instructed me to send them to the local Frye ummmmm? boot fixer? so we'll see if they can be fixed. They are awesome once you get them on! However, beware. The shaft circumference is just right, too - not too wide, which is usually my issue with boots. Quality is top notch, like all Frye boots.They do run big, though, by about 1/2 to full size (for wider feet or if wearing with socks). I am usually a size 7 1/2; however, I had to return them and order a size 8 instead, as I couldn't even get my foot into the size 7 1/2. The size 8 boots fit perfectly! Otherwise, they are great looking boots and are super comfortable. They look good dressed up for work or with jeans/leggings. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a pair of comfortable, versatile, and stylish boots. |
