CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: FRYE Women's Dorado Riding Boot (Apparel) I'm 5'5'' and these boots are not for anyone petite. They came up to my knee and they run HUGE!! I am normally a size 8, but after scooting my foot up all the way to the front of the shoe I could still fit my fist in. If you are petite and you do not have large calves these shoes are not for you. The opening is very large. It is for someone taller I'd say 5'8'' and above. However, quality of shoe is very good and I love the look I just wish they would make them for shorter people. My size 8, is 18" tall from the instep and about 13.5" circumfrence. They come to my knee. They are made for tall thin legs. They run a half size large. The foot is a bit wide. The foot is very comfortable and light weight. These look great with skinny jeans. I love these boots and bought two pair (when they were on sale). I have them in bordeaux. The color is beautiful, the leather is so soft and supple... they are great-looking. They are VERY tall. I am 5'3" but leggy for my height and they do come right to my knee. It doesn't bother me, though. I ordered them in an 8 although I usually wear 7.5 in Frye (I couldn't get them in 7.5 and had read reviews that claimed, contrary to the reviews here on Amazon, that they run small.) and I am pleased with the fit. They are a tad roomy but not overly large on me. They are by far the easiest pull-on boots to get on and off on that I own. So ... overall 5 stars. If you don't want a boot that touches your knee look elsewhere (I recommend the Frye Melissa Button). If this is not a problem for you, you will love the Frye Dorado. It's made in Spain, by the way. |
